This was a hard book to sit through solely bc it was written so well and you can feel everything Carmen was feeling in that moment. Also, I’m pretty sure I’ve never read a book that was written in second person and wow did it make it so much more personal!

I liked this book, but I wanted to REALLY like this book. It was close to being a 4 star read for me but 1 I can’t get past the weird sexual references in this book and 2 there was no conclusion????

O. M. G. This book!!! I couldn’t put it down. The story itself is gripping, but the interwoven blasts from the past to see the family history of motherhood (we see pieces of Blythe’s grandmothers life, Blythe’s mother’s life, and Blythe’s childhood) truly ties the story together in a way that you don’t necessarily think you’d need from the start. This book was extremely well done. I can’t wait to see what the author does next!!!!
