It was just entirely too slow to me and did not hold my attention at all. Some points were made but it seemed overly redundant

I can I enjoyed how JLA retold the first book in Casteels POV… I think it added to his character development and to be able to see his motives from his own eyes.

To be honest i don’t think I really listened to the book like I should of. And when I was focused in on it…it just seemed like filler book to me. I would like to say I like Cyrus however will we ever know what the deal was he made with the devil? His mother is insufferable though. That much i know for a fact. kamrans POV was just him going back and forth on if belt betrayed by Alizeh betrayed him or not and I’m just like can we just make a decision and move on Jesus.

However the last hour and a half the book started getting interesting.

I felt like the plot still developed slowly but also if Ash just told Sera things in the beginning we wouldn’t have the whole book.

It was a lot of world building…however I think I can safely say I enjoyed reading Nyktos and Seraphena story and learning how the FBAA works came to be. Also glad I’m reading this in tandem because things are starting to make sense and come together.

“Tell the Blood Queen to prepare for war.” Whew this gives the last seen of House of Dragons when Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen turns around with rage in her eyes vibes.

This was a quick easy, funny, anecdotal, self-help, essay on how to manage your “control monster“. Kevin Hart offered relatable stories, and essentially simple life lessons.

I think because I know Kevin Hart as the comedian he is, this was very easy to read, and relate to compared to other self-help books.
