Umm….. so yeah. That happened

Not a total snooze fest but was able to finish it in hours because, guess what, I skim read the book.

This book is a thriller in the most MILD sense ever.

The MC although is a teenager, comes off very whiny and gullible.

Yeah, not for me.

This is a book that has been plastered all over Instagram. Written by Elena Armas (@thebiblo), her debut, is this amazing, enchanting tale of falling in love with someone you never expected.

Catalina, or Lina, is your typical brown girl who has a family that is more interested in her dating life than in their own lives! She needs to bring a “boyfriend” to her sister’s wedding, and she has only a few weeks to find one. Aaron Blackford is your resident “I hate everyone but you” guy who has an air of arrogance around him. Of course that is for a reason, and underneath all that facade lies the sensitive boy who feels too much!

Enemies to lovers, is one of my favorite tropes. And BOY does this book do it justice! There’s the slow burn, the “oh my God am I falling for HIM/HER?”, and my favorite, “we have to share a bed. No big deal. What’s the worse that could happen *winkwink*”

Aaron could have been my dream guy, however he did come across a little arrogant in the first chapter. One of the reasons why I couldn’t go “head over heels” for him. He does make it up, however first impressions are important to me! Lina feels like me. An ex that gave her way too much baggage? Check. A family that worries about her dating life WAY too much? Check. A chick in a guy’s world of coding and clients? Check. I connected a lot with her, and absolutely fell in love with her and her family. The moments and dialogue had me laughing, crying, screaming with her.

This is an emotional book, and one we can relate to very well! If you’re looking for a romance that will not only make you feel good, but also make you fall in love with love, then this one is for you 💕
