Oh. My. God.

I don't even think I can properly formulate words after that. What the hell did I just read? What the hell has Holly Black done to me? And good god what a cliffhanger....

For once a book where I did not see the twist coming, it completely took me by surprise. And a female protagonist I actually like? wait... not like, LOVE.

Once I am able to coherently pull my thoughts together I will add a proper review, until then.....I am speechless.

To be honest this book wasn’t for me. It started off dark and strange and honestly I think the author was trying too hard for the shock values.

It’s called the Dark Circus but a circus really has nothing to do with the plot at all.

There isn’t really much to say about it as it barely held my interest to be able to actually retain anything.

I give it a 2/5 stars mainly because I WAS able to finish it and it did have a couple elements that I enjoyed.

Although shorter than your average novel, The Upside of Falling Down was a quick, funny, and quirky read. It was predictable in most of its "Twists" and "Turns" but I think for the type of story it was telling, it wasn't meant to be a huge surprise.

You feel for the main character, Clementine/Jane/Bunny, as she tries to find her self after being in a horrible plane crash that leaves her without her memory. She escapes the Hospital in Limmerick with a mysterious and drool worthy Kieran and with him she attempts to find herself and in turn reinvents herself.

If you are looking for a cute and warm and fuzzy quick read, The Upside to Falling down is a great one to reach for.

tbh it was your stereotypical highschool romance. there wasn't much of a plot besides "I like her but I'm not going to tell her" and a cool girl that cares more about her status than a good thing that is standing right in front of her.

The idea of this story had so much potential, controversial yes, but still if executed properly could be told well. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. The main Character in my opinion was annoying and contradictory. there was no clear build up or climax. every male (student or not) seemed to want her. the story was all over the place, not giving a clear jump between memory and current events leaving you confused and having to re read things all the time.

This book definitely wasn't for me
