RTC once I can pull my self together
This was a tough read with a non conclusive ending... I need time to wrap my brain around this heavy story...

I am not going to lie, I went into this with low expectations. I had heard nothing but good reviews and good things about Three Dark Crowns, until a close friend of mine read it.
Now I am all for political intrigue, it is honestly one of my favorite things in a book, if done right. I felt like despite all the political conflicts that were happening throughout this book that nothing truly happened. every single plan that was made fell through, no one got any farther then where they were before. And the twist? With the very last line of the book? Yeah, it had me shook, mainly because it came out of left field. There were only two miniscule hints littered throughout the novels entirety that could make you clue into that last line. And if that was the twist you were reaching for all along it should have been foreshadowed and planned out better. It almost seemed like an after thought/ "Whelp, I don't know where I'm going with this story but I have to end it some how"....*throws out last line of novel*.

Ugh, and can we talk about all the unnecessary romance? You truly want me to believe that a couple that had a crush on eachother when they were eleven, were separated for five years, and when they were reunited were just magically madly in love? even though he goes and cheats on her a few times? And then ups the anti on the whole insta love by falling for said person he cheats with, after they had survival sex once? *insert long sigh here*
Look, I am intrigued and willing to give book two a shot in the dark, but this definitely did not live up to the hype, at all.
