This is not exactly a well-written autobiography, which is totally understandable if she didn't get the help of a ghostwriter. I felt like some chapters of her life were dealt with very quickly (how she became famous), and she could have dug a little deeper on some topics (her relationship with the paparazzi, her partners). Overall it was interesting to read about her life but I'm not completely satisfied by this book.

The concept was interesting but I wish some aspects were developed more. A bit confusing at times but thoroughly enjoyable.

I have a habit of going into books blind. I picked this up because I enjoyed "The Burning Girls" by the same author. I was expecting a similar book - a mystery/thriller with some supernatural elements that did not impact the plot. But what I found is a mainly a horror: the supe natural elements are the key to the whole story, there is no real-world explanation to the events. Nothing bad with this per se, as it was well executed, but it's not my cup of tea.

I was not into this book at the beginning and really had to push through it, but the final third of the book was worth the effort. It is not an easy book to read, there's so much new information (sometimes unnecessary) and often I found myself having to reread paragraphs to figure out what was going on. I think it could have used some more editing.
The pace was not consistent and I was unsure as to where the plot was going at times, but overall I enjoyed it. The interpersonal relationships between species were interesting to explore and definitely the best thing about this book. I teared up at the end when
Lovey died and Ohan joined the crew after being cured.

I am interested in the rest of the series but I will have to wait to have time to devote to it if it is anything like this one.
