Stormbringer by Erinn Harper

This is a great adventure story full of intrigue. MC Nikkeah Taranis is a super star in the world of magic casters. He's a bit arrogant when we first meet him, but an act of sabotage right before the annual Invocation tournament knocks him off of his pedestal and drags him into a vicious plot that threatens his livelihood and city. Harper's characters are well-developed and the pacing of this book is such that I struggled to put it down. A fantastic read!
After the Harrowing by Boots @ LookingLand, Boots @ LookingLand

"The most difficult part about finally being free is that we have to accept responsibility for the choices we make."
So many fantasy books are all about the journey toward battle, but this amazing tale is about the aftermath of war -- and how those who wage it reckon with the actions they took. Boots weaves a fantastic story full of characters who aren't all good, aren't all bad, but are all worth rooting for. This book is a rare gem and I'm so happy it's getting a sequel. (The artwork within is great, as well.)

Magic in Autumn Springs by K.B. Davenport

This cozy, witchy tale was the perfect story to curl up with on a cold winter night. I'm absolutely charmed by Davenport's story telling. Damien and Bartley are the perfect couple and reading about them exploring their magic as they fought to keep their town safe warmed my heart. This book had everything my Southern heart years for... magical-town vibes, moon-lit hayrides, and furry familiars. An absolute joy!
Bloody Spade by Brittany M. Willows

What a creative concept! I can honestly say it was difficult to put this urban fantasy down and I'm so glad there's going to be a sequel. Take everything you know about a deck of cards and mash that together with magic, and you'll only be touching the surface of Willows' world. Main characters Iori and Ellen were a joy to follow and I can't wait to see what the future holds for them!
Flowers for Fara by Amara Lynn, Amara Lynn

This was such a cozy read. Hallie is a sweet character and I enjoyed how she and Fara came together. Lynn is a good writer and, though I haven't read other books in the series, I was immediately oriented in the world of the Yverwood Witches. I'll certainly pick up more of Lynn's books!

Talia: Heir to the Fairy Realm by Joel C. Flanagan-Grannemann
5.0
(4.5/5 stars) What a creative tale! Talia, heir to the Fairy Realm, and Bastile, heir to the Human Realm, each struggle with keeping the peace between fairies and humans. As their relationship grows, so does danger. Flanagan-Grannemann weaves an intricate tale full of intrigue that I enjoyed. The pacing of the story was a bit slow for me at times (hence 4.5 instead of the full 5 stars) but overall this is a story fantasy lovers will really enjoy!
Fall Into You by Georgina Kiersten
5.0
This is such a comforting, cute love story. I found myself immediately rooting for Imari and, like her bestie, wanted to toss Imari's phone into the ocean every time Imari's mom called to bother her! Kiersten does a fantastic job with both scene-setting and describing the magic early-autumn weather can bring. My heart soared when Imari (literally) runs into her old friend, Cassidy. The chemistry between the two is instantaneous! This novella should be on every romance reader's TBR!
Haven by Ceril N. Domace

This was a magical adventure story. It took me a bit to get into it, but I'm glad I stuck with it. Domance's world building is original and well-done. Owen is devoted to his family and you really do feel for him. (He has some tough choices to make.) Family-oriented stories with children aren't always for me, but I did like this one! A great weekend read!
Winter's Dawn by Arden Powell

This is the second work I've read by Powell and it was just as lovely as the first one. Powell is an extraordinarily talented writer. My heart immediately broke for Thomas Brighton, a professor of magic accused of treason. While he awaits sentencing in a cold jail cell, he befriends the inmate next door, Winter. As doom descends around Brighton, he finds solace in conversations with radical Winter. The bond these two develop is intense and powerful. A perfect read that will warm your heart on a cold night.
Bride to the Fiend Prince by Rebecca F. Kenney
5.0
I adored this book! Princess Amarylla finds herself married against her will to the Fiend Prince at the very beginning of the book, but soon learns that her new husband isn't any more enthusiastic about the pairing than she. As she learns to navigate the dark kingdom of Terelaus, she realizes that not everything about the Fiend Prince is what it seems. Kenney does an excellent job building tension and attraction between these two, so much so that I finished this page-turner in one night. I immediately downloaded the next in this series. A must-read for those who like their romance a bit dark.
