I liked some of the stories, but some of the others just didn't really land with me. Maybe some of the concepts didn't really work for me or I wanted more out of them and there wasn't enough written. Overall it is a decent book though!

Genuinely fascinating. It took me a while to read this, but it was worth it. One of the best books I read this year, and it completely changed my perspective on the Middle Ages.

This was a fascinating book! I read this on the recommendation of Dr. Eleanor Janega in her final blog post of the year, and I'm glad I did. It really got me to appreciate how people in the Middle Ages were pretty normal compared to now, not as alien and boorish as they're usually depicted. Plus, it was an easy read. I recommend it!

This was a great book for me, since I knew barely anything about the conflict in Palestine, to my great shame. It's very informative, presented in a very intuitive way, and dismantles myths that a lot of people may believe. I'm glad I read this book.

This book has singlehandedly kindled my new interest in the Middle Ages.
