This book is poetry in motion. I loved the structure of it, story -> letter, and the progression therein. Both authors' way of describing scenes and feelings touches on the ineffability & vibrancy that is life. And their way of describing time travel is like nothing I've ever read, weaving braids of reality together. This was a quicker read, and it was so, so good.

Easily one of the best books I've ever read. I'm still dazed by the ending. Transness permeates this book on every level and it comes through so clearly as someone who is trans. The story this book tells is weaved so well, full of hope and sorrow. Maya describes the ineffable with such dexterity, I can see the fight of the gods play out in my mind with all its mystery and splendor. Her writing can sometimes border on the likes of Alex Garland, but never too much that the larger picture becomes obscured. The main characters have such fierceness and tenderness about them. I didn't realize how much I wanted a womb of my own until Deane described how Achilles felt when she grew her own.

The ending felt akin to something out of Evangelion - the fury and power of a woman becoming manifest, so much so that she cheated even death and slew the gods themselves. Yet still at the end it was driven by love.

It's so hard to find the words for this book. The trans moments resonated with me so strongly,
I felt Deidamia's sorrow at the growth (and loss) of Achilles, Melia's pain at Helen's magic, and her joy of finding other kallai, the surprise at seeing Brisewos and knowing immediately what he represented.

I honestly cannot recommend this book. It's filled with such history and passion and love. I will be singing its praises until my voice runs dry.

This is a delightful and lovely read. It talks a lot about the fundamentals of being trans and would be an excellent read for someone on the precipice of cracking their egg. I loved how the author talked about magic and the manipulation therein. I couldn't put this down and ended up blasting through it in just a couple of days!

Another awesome addition in the Danielle Cain series! I love the way Killjoy portrays the fantasy elements of this book and the world she's built out of it.

This book was so fantastic to read. The premise sounded simple enough, but there were so many layers to it. All the character connections, the stories, the relationships. I cried so many sad AND happy tears to this book. This book made me text my wife from a plane to tell her how much I loved her and cared about her. This book took me from sobbing to swooning in less than 5 minutes. It's not a "challenging" read, but it doesn't have to be. It's sweet and fun and wandering and hot and happy and so so full of love and growth.
