I can't believe how quickly I've been reading this series 😭 another great volume. There are once again sad moments but also moments of heart warmth. Loved to see Fukumaru be the big brother and take care of/care for all the little scrubbies even if it took him a little bit to get used to them.
Very interested in what will happen with Hoshinari and Teruaki. I can make a pretty good guess, but I'll keep that to myself and read the next volume to see if it's a correct guess!

I'm so grateful for this mangaka for giving us all a wholesome manga that pulls at your heartstrings. I loved seeing the growth (and projected growth) of Teruaki. And a glimpse of another of Fuku's siblings. I can't stop being excited for each new volume 😭😂 left on a cliffhanger but I'm so glad I have the next volume already checked out from my library 😉

Did not finish book. Stopped at 34%.
Just wasn't grabbing me like I was hoping. Had it paused because I thought I would maybe pick it up to try again but I've decided against it.

Please read trigger/content warnings. There is a lot of graphic content and a lot of heavy content. I wish in the audiobook it had mentioned content warnings at the beginning along with the "this is a work of fiction although based off of real people" section.
This was heartbreaking. There were a few glimpses of joy/happiness but overall a very sad, tragic story. I was in my car when I finished it and almost cried in my car. I can totally understand the other reviews saying how it seemed sort of trauma porn-ish, and others wishing we got more of the ball scene(we only got one brief scene of a ball and then a few mentions of them in passing).
There was a point at the end where I was a little confused as to how someone got "the virus" tbh, but maybe I just missed it because I was listening to it faster than normal speed.
I think I will have to watch Paris is Burning because I did overall enjoy this book, especially as it was focusing on non-white gay and trans characters, and think watching the documentary would further expand my knowledge.

Here I am again, just crying a little bit about a manga with cats and good people in it 😭😂 Kanda's daughter is goofy and I love that. Having everyone in Kanda's home was so wholesome. Interesting developments with Moriyama's band has me intrigued in the next volume.

Another absolute banger 😭 also made me tear up and almost full blown cry at a couple parts. This was a great series to get back into manga for me I cannot say that enough. Loved seeing the growth of Geoffrey and the surprise character at the end. Plus more cats? Perfect really. Can't wait to read more! (Also I will definitely try to find the show adaptation because I'm loving this series so much).
I will say, there are pretty consistently some heavier topics being discussed and explored amidst the cuteness of the cats and their humans in each volume so be aware of those. Nothing like GRAPHIC, but def enough to pull some emotions. Like a recurring theme/topic is of grief. But each volume does a good job of showing that grief may be long lasting, but there are always things or people or pets that can help you to keep going.

Really enjoyed this. It's always great to hear minority experiences in predominantly white places. I could connect a lot with the author on a lot of things.

Kind of bad but entertaining enough, would be willing to read the rest of the series since it's giving me sport anime/manga vibes but with seedy/problematic main characters. I didn't like the use and frequency of use of the r-word tho.
Maybe check some trigger/content warnings on this just in case.

Really enjoyed this memoir. I loved a few of Elliot's past film work and didn't know all the struggles of his personal life.
