fairly similar to 'I dare you', just the more adult version.
a bunck of rich kids who think they can do what they want. it kinda pissed me off at first but then I saw what the author was going for. I was just pissed that all the fucking threats were based in a misunderstanding.
it was a good and inky book though.
Penelope for the win. She does good with strange

this books was a bit slow in the beginning but the premise was interesting enough to keep me going. However, the pace was a bit off for the whole book imo. There were moments of too much action and description and things happening all at once and then moments where abslutely nothing was happening and you were just reading for the sake of reading.
at first the mc seemed to me like a sketch... the clumsy, underapreciated ya heroine but throughout the book she became to feel more like a real person fortunately.
I wish we had gotten more of the Dragon however, of all the characters actually. They were not at all fleshed out and i wish we had gotten more out of everything.
still, i forgive that because that's exactly how fairy tales feel like. you read about these amazing people but never get to close to them to understand them as human beings and so they become myths.
i will say that Novik's writing lends well to this type of story. It feels magical and old and ephemoral. i don't know how to describe it but her allegories and descriptions are really flowery in a good way <3
overall, this was an enjoyable read and i'll definitely read more by the author

as Brocky would say "what a bloody slow book"
up until the midway point this book was very slow paced but after... no one could pry it out of my hands. no moment to rest, stakes were high, there was action to be acted. so even though it has its dull moments and the ending wasn't satisfying enough because i so desperately wanted more from all the characters, i still cannot help but look fondly on the experience

Awesome contemporary. It's progressive without being pushy. It doesn't feel like it has an agenda. Has a lot going on at the same time. Super gripping.
