The 3rd person, present tense took a little bit of getting used to, but it helped let you really get under Chloe's skin. Much like Shara Wheeler. And despite how obtuse Chloe might have been about her feelings, at least you can see where she's coming from. Chloe isn't always an easy character to love, but you're definitely rooting for her to figure it all out in the end.
Would have been nice to hang out a bit more with Chloe's friends who all seem like a wonderful ensemble to round out this book, but you can't have a title like that and not focused on said Shara Wheeler (in more ways than one). That being said, I appreciated the way this book explored the queer experience and give major kudos to the author for writing this story. Be patient with this one, folks. It'll grow on you.
