I am sorry but the stories are not that great. At first I thought maybe the openly ended stories are there, for the reader's interpretation, for the reader's imagination as to amplify the mystery and horror aspect of the novel, but nope, apart from the first one and the one with the worm-Invasion-Of-The-Body-Snatchers thingy, the stories are shallow and not scary at all.
I don't know, but maybe just take the pictures and make up your own story (I did this for my little sister, told a different story using the artworks and she loved them) because the illustrations are great.

I am happy that the series keeps getting better. Kinda like Stranger Things + Dark (the whole time travel stuff) if they were made into comics and used retro art styles (oh the artwork is awesome).
Can't thank my past self for picking the first vol randomly, enough.
