This book pissed me the fuck off! All of these characters need therapy ASAP! I've heard so many good reviews about this series so I decided to give it a try and now I'm wondering why people like it but to each their own. My feminism and my brain won't ever let me be okay with the shit they pulled on Rika. You love her but treat her like shit, actually worse than shit  all the fucking time? I get he's emotionally but still...

Rika had no personality and her only moods were horny, pissed off or sad that's it. 0 character development, zero personality, just a lost girl who's been infatuated with an asshole for so long that she's willing to do anything he wants.

Michael is just a boy/man whose love language is degradation, violence and angry sex.

Rika needs serious therapy, counseling and a new brain basically because how are you going to end up with someone who froze your account, burned your house down and tried to gang r*pe you and you still think yes, this man loves me and I'm going to spend the rest of my life with him 😒

I'll probably read the 2nd book even though everything in me is telling me not to do it because everyone says that it's a lot better than the first one. But even if I end up liking that one (which seems pretty unlikely), I doubt I'll read Damon's book because I don't think there's any believable way to give that pedo a redemption arc.

The only reason this book is getting two stars is because the spicy scenes (the consensual ones) were spicing the right way. Specially the one with Michael, Rika and Kai, and the other reason for the 2 stars is because the book kept me curious and even though I hated a lot of things that were happening, I really wanted to know what the hell they thought Rika did to them that they were willing to wait 3 years for their revenge. The answer was disappointing tho, I expected something worse but we'll that was a common through out this book. I expected the story to get better at some point but it just became worse and worse the more I read.

I feel kinda meh about this book. There wasn't anything I hated nor loved. I like morally grey men that are just teddy bears inside but only for their women so I liked that about Nero. However, his obsession and "love" for her so freaking fast just annoyed the shit out of me. I'm not an instalove kind of girl and I'm realizing this is a common trope for this author, this is my second book of her so I'll give her another chance and see how it goes.

Also the FMC didn't appeal to me, I like my FMCs to have goals and not be submissive (except in the bedroom), I wanted her to have a personality and some self-esteem, I get she had a traumatic life but at least if your boo has money, ask him to pay for your therapy and get a life please. I just needed more character development and growth, for both of them actually.

This book was an easy read but just underwhelming 🙃
