I live, laugh, love this book!! Like the rest of the books in the series it has spice, heart, a strong heroine, and a dreamy male love interest. But this one was also hilarious. It is not an enemies to lovers but the way these two troll each other had me laughing my ass off. They are so funny together and it is non stop witty back and forth teasing playful banter that was so funny.

They say you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover but in the case you totally can. The cover promises a story that is hot, gothic, seductive & devilish and it 100% delivers on that promise. The insta love was a little cringe at times but the absolute devotion the MMC showed made up for it

This is the coziest and sweetest of books! I was surprised that this story takes place in November and leads up to the winter solstice. There is no need to wait til October to read. It works perfectly for these quiet November weeks after halloween before thanksgiving/Christmas take over.

The characters and story are adorable! The whole book gives that same warm feeling you get when you drink tea while wrapped in a blanket.

3.5 stars for this one! I was hooked on this audiobook. I am a huge fan Kerri Maniscalo! She has a gift for transporting you to the places she writes about. This one is set in 1800s London Victorian era. You don’t just get visual descriptions of the setting she describes it in full detail smells, ambiance, clothing everything so you feel like you are there. This is a true crime mystery about Jack the Ripper. There is true crime, mystery, gore, and horror. The main character is a female in science so that historical setting lends itself to commentary on women’s experiences. There is a splash of flirty academic rivals romance that’s lightens the mood of the book but it isn’t a major part of this book.

I had so much fun with this book. It’s a murder mystery with a side of romance that is suspenseful but also cozy at the same time. Reminded me of a Nancy Drew mystery. I loved the dual POV and timeline and really enjoyed trying to solve the murder.

This book was unfortunately not what I expected like at all. It’s been advertised as a cozy fall read but it’s not. It was actually a very heavy & emotional book. I was so disappointed because that is not what I signed up for when I picked this book up. If you are looking for a cozy fall read this is not for you. If you are looking for an emotional book this could be great. The portrayal of grief, loss, and abandonment was well done. There are heavy themes (suicide ideation, murder, & assault) but there is enough love and hope to keep you from falling in to despair.

Since Mother Nature wants to give me 80* weather in October I snuck in one more summer romance and I am so glad I did! This has romance, steam, drama, & schemes that are comedic. It was over the top in the most fun way

This might be the most important book I have read this year. Anyone with kids in their life should read this! It basically takes you through a journey explaining how modern technology has made the generation of kids so different. If you want to understand why kids these days are built different read this book. There is a great balance of how we got here, the social impact, the individual impact & actual solutions.

This book brought to life my two biggest fears: marriage and being trapped in a snowy place with no wifi or cell service. I thought that would keep me locked in and it did for 2/3s of the book. The winter cabin spooky vibes are immaculate and the first half of the book was creepy thriller perfection. I guessed the big twist and was delighted when I was right. BUT that ending….ugh the ending was so disappointing!! And it wasn’t just disappointing because I didn’t get the ending I would have wanted but because it made the FMC’s whole story pointless.  I don’t understand the point of all that work for it to end the way it did. I am biased because I hate the MMC and I thought the thriller was setting his ending to be so much more.

This romance is the epitome of a soft, easy, Sunday kind of love. The communication is next level so that antsy will they won’t they tension won’t be found here. Instead you’ll find real friendship & a solid couple. The real star of the book though is the female friendship our FMC finds throughout the book. Her journey through girlhood of finding herself & friends was the real love story.
