A Certain Hunger by Chelsea G. Summers
1.0
Literally all this book is supposed to be is a feministic book about a women killing men. Basically it’s just supposed to be an angry psychopathic woman. And this book is her life story, her confession so she won’t be forgotten. This is what we call modern feminism? Women killing men just because we can? I do get the bigger picture don’t get me wrong. But the narrator of this book had no reason at all to kill these men. She just did and that’s it. Oh, and she ate them.
Oh, and what I hated the most was the narrators monologue in the end talking about men are more likely to be forgiven. Which, yes, true, you have a point. But then she goes on to say: “even though women have many more reasons to be driven to it.” Which again, yes, true, but she doesn’t really have the right to say this, does she? Because she had no reason whatsoever do do what she did, she just wanted to. It made no sense. I just feel like this book was trying to make a point on feminism but it missed the mark for me.
And frankly I thought it was quite boring, I couldn’t get trough this book for the life of me.
I do think the writer has talent and I enjoyed the writing for the most part, it was just the story that clearly enraged me.
