The Conductors by Nicole Glover

I made it through the first 30 pages and then I had to let it go. The move seems to be dominated by exposition instead of character development. I found myself confused by some of the dialogue, a number of characters were introduced very quickly with no context. Also, descriptors like "panic" seem ill suited in the context they were used in. Ultimately I found myself asking: Is it bad writing, poor editing or a style of mystery writing I'm unfamiliar with?

Whatever the answer is, given how many novels I am excited to explore in my free time, I want to make sure I focus on writing that adds to my joy. Unfortunately The Conductors doesn’t see to be one of those books.

I got 104pgs in, and I just couldn’t continue reading a novel that jumps across 300 years and in this universe ZERO Black people exist #sigh.
