The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang

The story was great, but it honestly took me sO long to get some grip on it. There isn't much going on in the first half of the book which made reading it a little difficult sometimes. the second part of the book made up for it tho!!! I love the character building and all different elements and omg the plot twist at the end. I cant wait to read the next book!

The writing was just not it for me. The characters felt hollow, the story didn't reach much of a "wow" moment. It felt like 60% of the story was just them having sex and it felt very repetitive. The story has so much potential and it just... doesn't live up to that.

The story was okay i guess? Didn't happen much most of the story, but the scare-built up was there, which was enjoyable. Getting more background on the characters was also a nice touch. The ending seemed a bit rushed and out of nowhere though
