Harry's narration makes it feel like a conversation with a well worn traveler, a lively time fill with laughs, tears, and nostalgia for memories you don't even have, and places you've never even seen.

My only qualm was that I feel in some areas the book dragged out it's pacing in the name of tension that didn't need to be added.

Regardless, it is a stunning, terrifying sequel by all accounts. Kingsbane grabs your heart from the start and refuses to let go, tightening it's grip with every word until it finally rips it out from your chest at the very moment you think it will let you go.

"woe is me I don't have powers"

"anyways anyone else hear those voices that often appear right before something important?"

Girly got kidnapped and keeps thinking about how attractive her kidnapper is. This could be overlooked, if not for the fact that they had the chemistry of salt and a snail.

Great for lovers of Indiana Jones, historical books, and young readers interested in mythology! Such a fun, yet twisted read.

I didn't like the writing style or the FMC right off the bat. The writing was very show not tell and the girl was way overconfident for someone who failed miserably at the first thing we see her do.

I was trying to get to page 50 before I made a decision to DNF or not, but then the author introduced world-building via a puppet show. I'm all for creative world building, but not like that.

You know that feeling when you finally decide to pick up that one book that's been on your shelf for ages, and when you finally read it your so pissed at yourself because you could have enjoyed this book YEARS AGO? That's how I feel about this book.

I first heard it described as "Indiana Jones meets Sleep Beauty" and that's the perfect description for this book. It's action packed, full of adventure, with strong characters that pack a punch, but it is woven with the fairy tale magic of Sleeping Beauty.

So many times reading this book I was brought back to when I first watched Prince Philip battle Maleficent in the forest of thorns to get to Aurora. The wonder, the terror, the way I peaked through my fingers to watch because as much as I wanted to I couldnt look away.

The world building was unique, and the magic system was so interesting to learn about. One of the POV characters, Fi, was raised by treasure hunters and is a historian herself (two titles that are basically hand in hand in this world) seeing the world through her eyes, already packed with knowledge, was refreshing compared to most 'Fish out of water' main  character types. Shane and Briar each had their own unique perspective as well, which led to a world that felt truly alive.

I loved the Bone Spindle, and I can't wait to see where this series goes next.
