A sweet story, great for people who are struggling with grief or the idea of an afterlife. The plot was somewhat slow but not to the point to where it was not enjoyable. The main character accurately depicted how most would react to their death, making the story uniquely relatable.

Diary of an oxygen theif is a wonderful read for those who interest themselves with diving into the mind of someone who emotionally hurts people. The reasons given why this man loves to hurt women gave a new outlook on sour relationships. The book has quite a bit of sexual content so personally I would not recomend the read to anyone under the age of 16. Being I recently finished the book and am 16, the content is nothing new to someone who is constantly surrounded by sexual jokes made by other teenagers. If sexual topics make you uncomfortable this book isnt for you.

The book was a great start to the series and introduced the world to the readers nicely. The characters had depth and could be easily built upon as I'm sure they are in the other books. I feel as though since I watched the first season of the tv adaptation my enjoyment of the book was spoiled a bit because I had a general idea of what was to come so my recomendation would be to avoid the show until after you've read the series.

It was slow at first, it took a while to get fully immersed into the world again but I would say that the last 150 pages were completely worth the initial struggle. The plot made me want to scream and laugh and cry all at once, so obviously Cassandra Clare knows how to continue on a story flawlessly without the plot and recurring themes and world becoming redundant and boring. I'm still not okay after Magnus and Alec's breakup but you know you can't have it all.
