This is my favorite book of all time, and that's not something I take lightly!
I'm incredibly happy that I finally read this book. It's so different than any other book I have ever read. The writing style is so unique - I've never seen anything like it. It's also the first book I've read about the holocaust that is written from a German perspective. It was wonderfully and deliciously sad.
I basically skimmed the last few chapters. They were very, very boring. I think that the book should have been broken into two books. Not sure if I'm even interested in reading the next books.
Heartbreakingly beautiful book. I almost didn't finish it, because I didn't want it to end.
