Good book, I'm just not in the right mental place for the hard topic.

Wow, that hit hard. I don't have words to do it justice. It's a hard story to read, and a story that needs to be read. It'll be in my head forever now.

I started out reading the hardcover, and switched to audio partway through. Highly recommended! Bahni Turpin brought it to life.

It's a little dry, I have to admit. But it's a very good look at African history without an attempt to excuse the colonialism that wreaked havoc. It obviously doesn't cover everything, as it's trying to give an overview of an entire continent, but it's fairly thorough for what it is.

This is a great, lighthearted, fun read, perfect for no spoons days. It's a romance with a healthy, functional relationship, with a bit of a mystery in the background. There are a couple of spicy scenes.
