i read Lucy Foley’s The Guest List and i really enjoyed it. i had really high hopes but this book however was just meh, in my opinion. i liked the multiple point of views but i can’t shake the fact that one of the main characters had sex or some sort of infatuation (whether reciprocated or not) with 90% of the other characters (only excluding his sister and Jacques) while this creates this kind of “web” that entangles the characters to each other to me, it just made me roll my eyes. most of the twists were just meh, not necessarily predictable just kind of lackluster
honestly, i saw this book on the shelf at the library and thought the cover was cool and i was looking for a quick read. BOY, was it a quick read because I could not put this book down, mostly because it’s not at all what i expected. a woman accused of murdering her husband and has suspicion cast on her for another tragedy involving her father and brother — is missing. she leaves behind a memoir of sorts to her heirs and within the contents she tells her side of the story. it is interesting and leaves you not knowing what or who to believe.
