Phew! Lyonne Riley has a skill for writing impossibly endearing monsters and hot AF spice. In a world ruled by monsters, humans are a hot commodity and have their choice of mates. Theo is the perfect mix of awkward and confidently sexy Minotaur. Love, loved this book.

Crushes and miscommunications are the name of the game in this short story by Olivia Date. Nina and Will are stuck stranded on the side of the road in a retrofitted Weinermobile at Christmas which leaves plenty of time to work out their feelings and Nina’s misconceptions. This short story is cute and more than a little silly (in the best way).

Charlotte Stein has this different writing style that makes my brain so happy and always beats back reading slumps. It was cute, sexy, funny, and everything I wanted and more in a paranormal romcom. Best friends to enemies to awkward friends to "we have to have sex FOR REASONS." Bloody fantastic, 10/10. No Notes.

It’s sparks at first sight when Everleigh’s saved by hunky fireman Griffin after a kitchen fire. But she’s not interested in a date until he saves her again and again during what has to be the most cursed holiday in history. I’m not usually one for love at first sight but this was super cute and fun. I gave my eyerolls a break because of the short length because these two are seriously adorable.

First holidays in a new place are rough, even more so when you’re on a tight deadline and things like “personal hygiene” and “food” are taking a backseat. So, Evie is delightfully surprised when someone starts leaving ornaments for her little Christmas tree on her doorknob. She’s even more delighted when she learns who has been leaving them. This story was relatable AF and cute as heck with just enough spice to keep things interesting.

**spoiler alert** This is one of my go-to comfort books. Alex and Violet are hilarious characters. Alex Waters is a hockey star in Chicago and Violet’s step-brother gets traded to the local team. Violet is dragged out to support her brother in his first game with the team and it’s an instant connection between the two of them. That connection explodes into Insta-lust and a hookup at the team hotel.

Their entire relationship is an adorable push-pull with a little bit of borderline stalker behavior from Alex that would have been creepy if he wasn’t so darn earnest. Normally I don’t enjoy the back and forth, will they won’t they relationships but this one was superbly done with lots of valid and understandable reasons for Violet’s reticence. Plus, we get some epic groveling from Alex and I love a good grovel.

This book is laugh out loud funny, absolutely ridiculous, heart-filled, and adorable. It shouldn’t be able to be all four but somehow it is.

In what may have been my favorite of the collection, Jamie is trapped with her best friend’s troublesome little brother during a holiday snow storm. A situation made all the more awkward after their last meeting ending with Jamie shutting down Marc’s attempts to win her. It’s my favorite type of second chance romance where the initial hurt was all miscommunication and poor timing rather than actual harm done in the past. It was a cute, quick read that left me in the holiday spirit.

This book is weird. Really fucking weird. Like, what am I reading weird. So, of course, I loved it! It was just the right mix of weird and romance. Cliff’s formal speech took a moment to get used to but it was easy to roll with once I picked up the rhythm of it. Awesome ADHD rep in Trig. Always fun seeing the reality of ADHD in books and this one nailed it. Crystal is sweet and sassy and adorable. Plus a plus-size woman who gives zero fucks about her weight and it’s hardly mentioned. I just adored it.
