Loved the first 70% of this book but really hated the ending. It wasn’t a clever twist in my opinion, just a depressing turn of events that really didn’t make sense with the rest of the book.

Olivie Blake can do no wrong by me. The characters are quirky, dodgy, and lovely. The story is moving and so much fun. But above all, as always, her writing is impeccable. This is the fifth book of hers I’ve read this year and I’m ready for another.

This scratched the fantasy itch I have had since finishing Throne of Glass. Once I actually sat down with this book, I devoured it. Fell in love with the characters and the world. Didn’t realize it wasn’t a stand alone, so I’m devastated I have to wait for the sequel, but so excited.

Although I can understand why her writing is not for everyone, being the sixth book I’ve read and loved by Olivie Blake this year, it is definitely for me.

This was a modern day reimagining of Romeo and Juliet with rival witch families in New York City. As always, I fell completely in love with the characters and was unable to tear myself away.

As a big fan of both Normal People and Conversations With Friends when this book came out I was so excited to get my hands on it. Unfortunately, at the time I did not finish it, just couldn’t get into the same way I had her other books. After the announcement of her new Novel I decided to give this another go, and boy am I glad I did.

I loved every second of this book, I’m not really sure why I didn’t get into it the first time around. It had everything I loved about her other two novels: imperfect characters whose anxieties and flaws are relatable. I’ll be thinking about this book for a while I’m sure.

I’ve been liking the “weird girl” books that have been recommended to me recently, but this just missed the mark. I didn’t care about the main character at all.
