I realize everyone said I was “supposed” to adore this book. Did not enjoy it at all. Props to the author for writing something a lot of people loved. It’s just not for me.

Even in a really hard personal season where pregnancies are hard for me, I loved it. And I cried my way through it. Relationships are messy and hard and people mess up. I liked that it was messy and not perfectly tidy.

I’m a solid 4.7 but it deserves the 5.

This book is 5 stars for me for multiple reasons. I consider John Warren a friend, but as a friend I am not going to say your book is great if it isn’t. This book is great. First because I know that John has lived and breathed every experience and piece of advice in the book. He’s literally implemented everything he recommends. Second it’s a masterful book at giving practical advice while also being engaging with real life stories where the stakes were much higher than corporate America. Third it’s genuine and that’s so rare these days. I can’t recommend this book enough. Truly an exceptional read and resource!

I did love it but feel like I need to note for the permanent record I would never be a Hollis to a Gigi. Public embarrassment would be the least of her worries.
