This comic has so many glowing 5 star reviews so I genuinely think I might have read it wrong because I didn't really understand it or the hype. I'm going to continue the series to hopefully understand it better. But, I definitely feel out of the loop with this one.
✨ 12/100 read for 100 Graphics in a Year Reading Challenge ✨ + also read for the graphicsathon 28 in 28 Feb 2025 challenge!

I'd never heard of this series before but I'm a sucker for anything Wonderland-related so I had to pick this up! I'm not completely hooked yet but I have put the second volume on hold at my library so hopefully I pick that up later this month! I'm interested to see where this series goes...

This is a good graphic to just pick up whenever you have a spare few minutes to read as each chapter stands by itself and you don't have to read it all in one go to understand what's happening. I also love that the recipes are included at the end of the chapter. I didn't enjoy the first volume of the main series when I read it but this is making me want to try it again. Also, quick question for those who have read the main series... am I supposed to Qifrey and Olruggio as a romantic couple or are they just two straight bros living together and raising a bunch of magical kids because they're two straight bros and that's what straight bros do?

I think this is going to be one of those books that I'll reread in the future on a day when I'm not on the literal verge of a blinding migraine and I'll love it. Today just wasn't my day but at least I had a Discworld book to help get me through it.

Midsummer Mysteries by Agatha Christie

I'm definitely going to continue reading these seasonal collections but I was honestly expecting more from this. I wonder if Christie's short stories just aren't for me or if it was just this collection in particular that didn't vibe with me.
The Blood-Stained Pavement
⭐️⭐️⭐️
I had no idea what to expect from this collection but I really enjoyed this one, as predictable as it was.
The Double Clue
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Interesting enough but really nothing to write home about.
Death on The Nile
⭐️⭐️⭐️.25
I'm guessing that once I've read a few more of Agatha Chrostie's full-length mysteries I'm going to recognise more characters but it was fun to meet some of Christie's lesser-known sleuths.
Harlequin's Lane
⭐️⭐️.5
Probably the spookiest of AC's short stories so far.
The Adventure of the Italian Nobleman
⭐️⭐️
Pretty damn boring but I do like Poirot!
Jane in Search of a Job
⭐️⭐️⭐️
I was reading this thinking wow this sounds like a great way to get kidnapped and then what do you think happened? This girl has no self-preservation skills.
The Disappearance of Mr. Davenheim
⭐️⭐️⭐️.25
Now this is my kind of mystery! Poirot, I am a fan!
The Idol House of Astarte
⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was so interesting and the solution was so boring.
The Rajah's Emerald
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
James Bond but...not 🤣 she had me for a second there i won't lie. I really enjoyed this one!
The Oracle at Delphi
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Mr Parker Payne, I do believe I am a fan of you. I really hope I'll see him pop up in more stories.
The Adventure of the Sinister Stranger
⭐️⭐️
Just boring.
The Incredible Theft
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Certainly one of the more interesting stories in this collection!

Disney High: The Untold Story of the Rise and Fall of Disney Channel's Tween Empire by Ashley Spencer

I already knew I was going to devour this book just because it's pure nostalgia for me. Still, I was a bit worried that it wouldn't necessarily be an easy read, but I'm happy to report that this book is really well-written and easily digestible! I was also worried this might be a total gossip cash grab but no, this book stayed true to it's name and truly does take you through the life of the Disney Channel from beginning to end, with some focus on the bigger stars like Shia LaBeouf, Miley Cyrus, Raven Simone, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers. I haven't seen all of the iconic Disney Channel shows or DComs but, I do vividly remember loving Lizzie McGuire and Hannah Montanna when I was a kid so of course I loved the chapters on those shows, but I also found the other sections on stars or shows I knew next to nothing about to be really informative and interesting. My attention was not lost for a single second of this book and I highly recommend it!

Terry Pratchett, you really had to go and write your own twist on fairytales, didn't you? The Witches series of The Discworld is possibly my least favourite to read, but I really enjoyed this one!
