I am suddenly glad I never caved and bought a copy of this for my shelves and instead borrowed it from my library. This is just so meh compared to the game.
✨ 38/100 read for 100 Graphics in a Year Reading Challenge ✨ + also read for the graphicsathon round 14!

I'm not *in love* with this series yet but I am enjoying it. I'm really hoping to fall in love with it just as much as everyone else seems to have!

I feel bad just giving this a 3 star rating but I really did enjoy it! I'll definitely be reading the prequels in this series and this gave me some more motivation to finally reread The Bone Season!

I really loved the whole idea of this. It felt a lot like a Wayward Children book to me for some reason so I do think that when I reread it in the future, I'll enjoy it even more.

Maureen Johnson finally realised that David is an awful and annoying as hell plot device and dumped him. Thank you Maureen. I didn't love this book nearly as much as the others in the series but I did still enjoy it.

I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about a murder mystery set outside of Ellingham Academy but I absolutely loved how secluded this one still felt set at a Summer Camp. I have a feeling the next one is going to be set in England so I don't know how it's going to go, but I'm so happy to be back in this crime-solving world with Stevie!

This really feels like reading the always growing bibliography, constantly running in John Green Mind, and I really loved it. I don't know if I'll remember half of this, but I do know that I love John Green's voice and would gladly be told all kind of random shit by him.

I really don't know what to say about Nadya's story, or I don't know how to put my thoughts into words. This was very much an action-less story where you're just following Nadya and I loved it. I related far too much to Nadya in the beginning of her story with her forced prosthetic than I can fully explain and I cried A LOT. If you've ever been made to try or wear a prosthetic/aid that you didn't want just know that Nadya finally gets to stop wearing it once she dives through her door, and she is just as perfect then as she was before her adoptive parents decided she needed it.

That cover 😍 Love that we're getting Nadya's story! This means the series isn't ending here, right? Because the series can't end until we've had Kade's story, right?
my ranking so far:

2. In An Absent Dream ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
3. Down Among the Sticks and Bones ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
