I’ve never been a big thriller reader but with all the raving reviews I thought worst case it would be a few chapters before giving up. This novel is written beautifully and poetically. Every time I thought I knew I had it figured out, a different path would pop up. Honestly it wasn’t until the last chapter when it ended that I finally was convinced there wasn’t going to be another twist. I sat shocked and amazed at how much I enjoyed this book and all the twists it took.

An absolutely beautiful, heartbreaking, and heartwarming novella of growing old and dying. The love that fills the pages is unspeakable. Fredrick Backman knows how to write simply and organically. This hits close to home and I felt that I stepped into the role of Noah while also wanting desperately to hold my partner close as the old man spoke of his late wife and their love.
