Emily Watson is an intriguing and lovable character. Lawhorn does a great job of weaving together a mystery and pulling the reader in. This was a fun and tense mystery that was satisfying but left just enough unanswered that I’m already eager for book 2 of the series. I have only a passing knowledge of Sherlock Holmes stories and that didn’t limit my engagement with the story at all though I could tell there were a lot of little details that someone more familiar with the world of Sherlock would pick up on and enjoy!
