Meh. It just wasn’t for me. I didn’t like the slow pace, nothing really crazy or significant happened, and I felt no connection to any of the characters.

There was a lotttt of “info dumping” in this book, but it was all info that was necessary to the plot and the characters always did a good job of summing it up afterwards in case you didn’t grasp everything while reading. (Ex. There would be a ton of deep info thrown at you and one of the characters would then at the end say “so let me get this straight…” and explain it plainly.)

THIS WAS SUCH A GOOD BOOK THOUGH. 😭😭 I’m glad I didn’t listen to the people who said the 3rd book wasn’t that good because I absolutely loved it.

The relationships? The characters? The humor and banter? THE ENDING? 🤣 I was laughing and crying and feeling all the feels. 10/10!!

This one was a tiny bit slower than the 1st book and I feel like SJM could have left out some of the filler, but I still loved it SO much. I have no idea why the 2nd (and 3rd, but l haven't gotten to it yet) get so much backlash for being "terrible" compared to the 1st because I was having a grand ole time from the beginning to the end.

Unpopular opinion??? Day and Nights spicy scene >

Just like Rebecca tricked us all into reading a military romance with Fourth Wing.. Sarah has tricked us into reading some sort of CSI, murder mystery.. and I’m not even slightly mad about it. It was a lot to digest at first but once I got the hang of who the characters were and what the magic system was (typical fantasy probs lol) it was smooth sailing. The plot twists were insane though! Every time I thought I had figured out what was going to happen or who was behind what, Sarah threw me for another loop and I was back to square 1 of trying to decipher who the real villains were. 10/10 this book kept me on my toes and thoroughly entertained. ❤️‍🔥

Mad at myself for not reading this sooner while simultaneously upset that I didn’t push it off longer because now I’m DREADING having to wait till the end of October to get my hands on the next book! 😭
This was SO SOOO good! I started reading Jasmine’s Shifterverse series right before this and you can definitely tell how much her writing has evolved over time while still keeping her unique style (lots of inner monologue and funny side comments, etc.)
Huge fan of the post apocalyptic Greek world setting! The characters were detailed and had unique personalities and I was a sucker for all the different “protector” animals! The plot was immersive, well thought out, and had lots of twists and turns that kept me from being able to put it down. 10/10 all around and I cannot wait to continue it in October!

P.s. Justice for Maximum, he was such a little cutie and his crush on Alexis was adorable! 😭❤️‍🩹

Love the plot and different magic/shifter system this series brings, but the writing is very repetitive and I find myself skimming through a lot of it. 100% don’t regret reading and will definitely finish reading the whole series though because Jasmine Mas knows exactly how to leave you on an insane cliffhanger. 🙃😂

I ateeee this book up! The plot was so so good and kept me on my toes, and that betrayal at the end!?? Immediately downloading the 2nd book! The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars is because there was a lot of repetitive wording (take a shot every time Sadie “vomits” and you’ll be wasted by the end of the book) and quite a few spelling errors but I’m hoping it’s just because it was in the beginning of her career and that the writing gets better as you go on through the series. 🤞🏼

1.5🌶️ (lots of sexual tension but only 2 short spicy scenes- open door but way more plot focused)

The smut was smutting and I definitely unlocked some new.. personal interests.. 👀😂 BUT the ending felt super rushed and the plot twists came out of no where and just seemed to be thrown in for shock factor instead of being planned out, so it left me feeling kind of bleh. Still enjoyed the read overall and don’t regret it one bit! 🫶🏻

"𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙣 𝙣𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙚 𝙙𝙤. 𝙊𝙪𝙧 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙤𝙙𝙨 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙬𝙚 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙝."

Yes. Yes. Yes. This was a slow burn that paid off in the end, and the spice itself was so elegantly written that it seemed more like poetry than smut. Huuuuuge fan of the actual plot too! I will for sure continue reading the series, because that epilogue.. I definitely need to know what’s going to happen next.
