This started off interesting but quickly got confusing with what felt like 100 characters with names that didn’t contribute much and it just all at once felt ridiculous and not enjoyable

American Predator: The Hunt for the Most Meticulous Serial Killer of the 21st Century by Maureen Callahan

I got just about 100 pages into this and I just can’t see myself finishing it. Was the storyline intriguing? Yes. But I hated how this was written. I can’t quite pinpoint what it is, but it feels like I’m constantly jumping from one person or detective to the next without enough differentiation, which is probably my #1 pet peeve. I tried both the audiobook AND reading it physically and had the same problem, so ill read about this story on my own time but this book fell flat in trying to keep me engaged and not confused.

Minor: Domestic abuse, Suicidal thoughts
I’m not rating this because I don’t feel like I should be rating nonfiction anymore when it’s directly someone writing about their life, especially considering this is written by a black woman who went into an experience I know nothing about. That being said I really did enjoy it and I don’t know much about maya (I’m trying to get more into her work) so this felt like I got to know glimpses of what she was like and went through.
