Madison Kate comes home a year after being charged with crimes she didn't commit. She moves back into her fathers house and is surprised to find that her new roommates are the three men who set her up for the crimes.

Is this a well written book? No. But it is entertaining as hell and sucked me right in. The fast pace, funny banter, and suspense helped to hold my attention. The cliff hanger... I need to know what happened!

MK is a very annoying FMC. She is bratty, spoiled, entitled, and weak. She is hell bent on getting revenge, but majority of her attempts are juvenile pranks. She gives into the guys so easily because she endured "a year of celibacy"... But really it's that she has no self-control.

Archer is an Asshole with a capital A. He is constantly hiding information and trying to control MK. There is obviously a backstory there that we haven't learned about yet, but as of now, there is nothing that makes him likable.

Steele and Kody have so much potential and there are periods where I start to like them as MMCs, then I am reminded that they just follow along with whatever Archer says.

So needless to say, I don't actually like any of the characters right now, but the plot has sucked me in. Who is the stalker? What was her father's true intentions? Who actually killed her mother? What secrets are the guys hiding?

After seeing Anastasia perform, Camden becomes obsessed with her.

This was definitely very close to the plot of Lincoln and Monroe's book. Anastasia has a similar backstory to Monroe and Camden is almost as unhinged as Lincoln, almost. The problem is that I didn't find these characters as interesting or that their chemistry was as strong.

Anastasia grew up in an abusive home where her father beat her so bad that he broke her leg, threatening her only joy in life, ballet. After her father was a she was place into a home where their son tortured her on a regular basis and continued to stalk and blackmail her after she moved out. Anastasia was just trying to make it on her own. She was barely getting by, having to sleep in the women's shelter and use the community kitchen.

I actually wish that more of the plot would have been about the Micheal storyline. That was the most interesting part of the book. He was a true psychopath. He would torture Ana without any remorse and wanted to keep her as his "pet". I think leaning into this storyline would have been a more interesting angle for the book.

Why did they have to involve dogs so much? Nope, didn't like that at all.

Camden is morally grey, red flags waving everywhere. Was he unhinged? Of course he was. Camden had a saviour complex, this was definitely the basis of his relationship with Ana. He felt like she needed saving, so he would be her saviour. This, coupled with the age gap lead us to the cringy DDLG relationship formed between them.

The whole elderly neighbour and her interactions with the guys was meant to be funny but was VERY cringy.

As usual, the banter between the guys if really entertaining. Their obsessive and crazy energy continues to shine throughout the book.

Tropes: morally grey, age gap, hockey player/ballerina, opposites attract, rich/poor, obsessive

Margot is reeling from the loss of her best friend, Eliza, who passed away in an accident right before they were to leave for college. Second year, Lucy invites her to be one of her roommates in an office campus house owned by a fraternity.

Lucy is the complete opposite of Margot, but oddly just like Eliza. She is bold, outgoing, mysterious, and has an edge of danger. While Margot is a quite girl who shys away from attention.... Or is she?

After moving in with Lucy and her two friends Sloan and Nicole, Margot is pulled out of her comfort zone. Her sophomore year is filled with new friendships, parties, hookups, and secrets, lots of secrets. After frat boy is found murdered at a party and Lucy goes missing, Margot becomes more and more suspicious. The more she digs, the more is revealed. Someone is lying...

Everyone is lying would be a good title for this book. This book reminds me of Pretty Little Liars, literally noone can be trusted and everyone is trying to hide something. There are some pretty crazy twists that are thrown at us near the end of the book.
We find out that Lucy is actually Eliza's sister and has been stalking her. She isn't actually a student at the school, but a 23 year old who is trying to replicate Eliza's life. We also learn that all three of the remaining girls are responsible for someone's death: Margot let Eliza fall, Nicole killed the frat boy thinking it was her rapist boyfriend, and Sloan killed Lucy to protect Nicole.

The remaining three girls will always be tied to each other by their their lies and secrets.
After Sloan kills Lucy, they hide her body in the crawl space under the house knowing that no one will find her. Then they set up an elaborate plan to make it look like Lucy is guilty of the frat boys murder and she has run away.

Though the book starts off pretty slow, the ending goes out with a bang!

Emmy has returned home after an accident left her too shaken to get back on her horse. The last person she'd ever find herself turning to is Luke, her brother's best friend.

This was a really cute cowboy romance. Emmy and Luke were absolutely adorable. They're banter and chemistry was so hot... That whiskey scene... Iykyk. I loved the dual POV.

Emmy returns home after being thrown off a horse. Her fear and panic attacks prevent her from getting back on and continuing on the barrel racing circuit. She's returning home to figure out her next steps.

As a product of his mother's affair, Luke has never been accepted by his family. The Rider family took him under their wings when he was a teenager. Though he had a rough upbringing, he's managed to get his life in order. He's working at the ranch, running his bar, and teaching riding lessons.

I loved how they always had each other's backs and propped each other up. Luke is there to help Emmy regain her confidence so that she can get back on the horse, literally. He is so patient and compassionate when he's with her. Emmy helps Luke understand that he's enough just the way he is.

As much as I adored their relationship, I think I may have loved the family and friendship dynamics even more. I cannot wait for Teddy's book, I think her and Gus's tension is going to make for a very spicy read.

Anna agrees to pretend to be married to Liam to help him get his inheritance.

As outrageous and unrealistic as this plot is, it was hilarious. I laughed through so much of this book. The contrast between free spirit Anna and buttoned up Liam, was really entertaining. I've seen this described as a cross between Succession and Pretty Woman, and that's a pretty accurate representation.

Anna and Liam are super cute together. I loved how Anna helped Liam prioritize himself and realize that his dreams and wants are important. His family was horrible; they were egotistical, abusive, greedy, pretentious snobs. His father got what was coming to him.

I'm really glad that the authors wrote in that the brothers were in therapy. The way that their father treated them messed them up so horribly.

There's no way that a family with this much money would not have run a full background check on one of their children's spouses, especially one they've never met. It doesn't make sense that Liam wouldn't have thought about this. You could not pull one over a family with this much money and this many resources.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 51%.
I made it about half way, but it's just so bad I couldn't force myself to finish it. The woman in this book is dumb and makes terrible choices. I'm all for dark romance, but the men in this book are just plain horrible people and disgusting. They are not anti-heroes you root for.

Aly is obsessed with a masked man who makes thirst traps on social media. What she doesn't know is that he is as equally obsessed with her.

This was surprisingly hilarious considering it is a dark romance. Josh and Aly's banter was top notch and their chemistry was fire. I loved the first half of the book, but the second half kind of lost me. It felt a bit like two seperate books... Stalker vs mafia/murder storyline.

Josh kept me hooked throughout this book, his inner monologues had me cackling. He has a tragic past (mass murderer father) that he likes to keep secret, so he hides away behind a computer and a mask. He is absolutely unhinged, but melts for Aly. His interactions with Fred (the cat) are surprisingly sweet.

These two are absolutely obsessed with one another, and would literally kill for each other.

Mason has fallen for the one woman he can't have, Peyton. Peyton, his friend's sister, has suffered a devastating loss and is trying to survive as a young single mother.

This was an emotional rollercoaster. It is vastly different from Say You Swear (that tore out my heart), but it is still a really good story. This is a very slow paced romance full of angst and trauma. Both Mason and Peyton grow and change so much throughout this story as they learn who they want to be as individuals and as a couple. We get to see them both in the past and the present, so we get to see how their relationship grows and how their love develops.

Peyton grew up in a broken home, her father left her with an emotionally abusive mother. Her one escape was Deaton, the boy down the street. After running away from home and learning she was pregnant, tragedy strikes as Deaton is killed in a car accident. Now thrust into a life as very young single mother, she fights to keep her head above water. She was absolutely broken by her loss, but her friend banded together to support her in every way, especially Mason. Regarding Mason, her actions and decisions left me so frustrated at times. She was absolutely terrified of losing yet another person she loves, so she pushed Mason away. I wish she would have communicated her feelings, but given how young and traumatized she was, it is understandable that she would want to just escape and retreat into herself. I liked seeing her growth as she realized that her choices were not making anything easier, but denying her love was destroying her and Mason.

Mason won me over. He is absolutely devoted to Payton, even more so her son, Deaton. The bond and love Mason develops with Deaton is heartbreakingly beautiful. Their relationship stole the show in this book. We see a much softer side of Mason when he is around Peyton and Deaton. We see Mason mature and grow so much throughout the story. He becomes someone that Peyton and Deaton can lean on and rely on. That said, he was dragged through hell and back throughout this book. Peyton was giving major whiplash, she kept giving him false hope only to break him over and over. My heart broke for him.

I actually think that Chase has been redeemed in this book. I never actually thought that he had feelings or was trying to pursue Peyton. I think he feels genuinely guilty for his actions and is trying to make the effort to be a good friend.

A few things that I didn't love were the lack of communication, some cringy moments (like his nickname for her), the lack of an epilogue (ugh wtf!?), and the fact that they were SO young! I wish they had been slightly older. Also, I think it was quite repetitive. I think that my expectations were very high after Say You Swear.

We pick up after the events at the end of book 2. Milla has been captured and taken to Hightower and Nico is scheming to get her out.

There was a lot going on in this book. I think my sentiments from the first book still apply here. I didn't really care about the characters and what happened to them. I think this is because they felt very underdeveloped and quite lackluster.

Also, this stems from over-complicating the plot, which continually pulled me out of the world as I tried to figure out what was going on. Too much, thats what was going on. We get Milla's experience in the tower, Nico's prison break scheme where he
gives up his shadow to create a portal
, family drama including
Nanna's almost dying, the train being destroyed, her brother possibly backstabbing her, Vanya possibly backstabbing her
, the attack on the house of blood, all sorts of Felix craziness, Nico almost recklessly dying 1000x, and the list goes on...

I think the idea and world had so much potential had they just edited down the story a bit and focused more on building the world, characters, and magical system. It has a very interest premise, but falls victim to trying to do too much.

I though this was supposed to be a duolology, but the ending signifies more to come. In my opinion,   do not get a satisfying ending, there is too much left open. Will they find her mother? What will happen on the continent? Will Order escape?
