I think this is one of the author’s better written books, but still felt like there were a lot of plot holes at the end.

When this book first came out, I got a lot of recommendations to listen to the audiobook and I’m so glad that I did. This audiobook has really great production, in part because of the podcast that goes on throughout the book. As for the actual plot of the book, I really liked it. I thought the author’s writing was equally suspenseful and entertaining. I always prefer when thrillers don’t show their hand too early, and I was definitely questioning whether or not I could trust the FMC up until the end. My only real gripe with this book is that I’m always skeptical of “The Amnesia Defense,” as the book would call it. Not that I don’t believe that it happens, or even that I don’t think people can regain their memories, it just always feels a little convenient in books and I find myself questioning if that’s really how it works. But overall, a fun read 📚

I’m not normally one for stories that are more driven by the characters than the plot, but this one surprised me! I was quite addicted to these bad people and their bad decisions. The book is relatively short, which I think works in its favor. If you’re looking for a book to help you hang on to the last days of summer, I would give this one a try ☀️ 🏖️

What did I just read???

Some parts were so well written and others felt like bad fanfiction?? Overall, I wanted to love this, but just didn’t.
