Schalk explained that the book wasn’t meant for the academy, and it shows. The history is relevant, and the theory is still concrete. I would recommend this book to anyone. I don’t think it requires background knowledge of the subjects. I wonder though, about the omission of Franz Fanon’s theorizing, which are seminal to radical psychiatry.
