This book is excellent if you are interested in an extreme primer of childbirth physiology/psychology. I was interested in more anatomical, chemical, and historical detail than this book provided, however, for a wide reach (which includes many expectant parents,) the book is very accessible. I also would have appreciated the stories of women to be interspersed throughout the books near their relevant topics, rather than at the beginning. Overall though, I did learn a great deal from the book!
