As much as I didn't want to buy into the hype and didn't want to trust that a white woman had the right to write this book, I couldn't put it down! It was a real page turner. There were some flaws with the book. I don't think that the events that were truly bothersome were fully explored. I was glad, though, that there wasn't a big, happy ending. The imperfections and racism are still left.

No new info if you've already done basic pregnancy reading. She sounded a little too entitled and rich for the average pregnant woman - like hiring a night nurse. Yeah, let me get right on that one...

This book was okay. She's a bit old school and since she her kids are in high school and college, it's definitely been a while since she's been through the whole pregnancy thing and it shows. Some of it is funny but not redeeming enough.

I really enjoyed seeing how my baby is progressing through the months with the illustrations included. Also, I have the most updated edition and it includes a lot of info that is relevant for young moms today, such as what to do with your bellybutton piercing. It's nice to have as the more serious read of your pregnancy.
