Cool ideas, interesting aliens, great authors, but I just felt it fell flat on this one. I felt like they were telling the whole novel and nothing felt surprising. The ideas in this should have been very surprising and twisty, but I kept being told isn't this shocking?!

I have been wanting to read this book for awhile and I am so happy I won a signed copy in a giveaway recently! I read this book in two days and I almost stayed up all night to finish it!

The romance is sweet and the characters lovable. I really liked the morals of the main characters, it reminded me of Jane Eyre.
SpoilerThere is a point where she has a chance to run away with the prince, he will marry her and they can live happily ever after, but she says no. I appreciate characters who are willing to say no the first time because it isn't right.

The nuns are a great addition to this story and the type of magic fits the world well.

Good world building, and I'm curious to read the sequel which I understand to feature one of the villains as a main character.

I love this book. It one of three books in the world that fill me with a warm fuzzy feeling. Delightful from beginning to end! It fulfills every fantasy fans dream of hatching a special dragon.

Review #2: I honestly am beginning to feel bad for Starie. I think she wanted power at any cost, but the cost was too high. Far too high.
Amel and the gang flees the healing arches, with every stop dodged by a horrible monster. Even in the city where they should be welcomed as heroes, something is wrong.
Amel begins to learn more about the secret society her mentor is a part of and the prophecies that guide their actions. I would add more details, but I don't want to give spoilers.
Hubric is the only mentor that could possibly rein Amel in. I am so glad they were connected in their weird string of events way they were.
Amel faces a tough choice in this one. I understand Amel's budding love for Leng, and in the face of all the things that Amel has accomplished and her heart for the truth, I can see why he likes her too.
I enjoyed the card games as much as I thought I would. Fun intrigue.

Review #1: These books keep getting better and better. The dragon is still the best character, but really who can compete with a dragon? Amel is a refreshing hero, boldly good standing for the truth and keeping her word. I am so happy that she now has a mentor in Hubric, he is exactly the person she needs in her life (Hear that Sarah? Don't kill him off!). The way she dealt with the fact that she didn't get healed was exemplary, and I actually really liked it. The ending on this one though. Nearly gave me a heart attack. Sarah doesn't pull any punches.

This book really delivers on the title in all the right ways. It starts with an in-depth explaination of different writing terms. Each section gives you gives many, many questions to help you figure out what your character, worldview, and narrative is for your book which is absolutely invaluble.

This isn't someone trying to give you a few premade plans, this is a workbook that walks you through the step by step process of figuring out your world. It helps you to weave your worldbuilding right into your story with questions to ponder and figure out.

I have been looking for a book like this and I am so glad Janeen has written it. :) I received an ARC in return for a honest review.
