After the last book being very human-heavy, this book offers a nice and diverse cross section of the sapients in the universe.

Wow, I think I may even like this more than A Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet—and I really enjoyed that! All of the story lines were great, but I particularly liked Kip's character development. Overall, it's a well thought out world, and I appreciate the little connections between the books.

Continues in the first book's tracks with themes of found family and self-discovery but with different main characters.

This is a great story about found-family, love, and acceptance. It explores some big questions in a fun way and with interesting characters. I love the world building—especially the cultural diversity and the interactions that come with it.

Amazing! I love the world building.
The music based language concept
is incredible. I love how the author can get in and out of comedic situations seamlessly. Just an amazing read overall; I could hardly put it down!

As good if not better than Fourth Wing. I’m excited for the next installment. Personally, I could do without the graphic sex scenes as they really do not add to the story, but that's just me.
