Best historical romance I've read so far. Loved the characters, the dynamics between them and the many moments I had to laugh loudly.

Very enjoyable, quick read set in the 1920s with a good plot/character/smut ratio for a mystery romance. Phoebe was a delight in every scene she was in. Though I liked most of the characters introduced. It definitely had its issues regarding atmosphere and giving me, the reader, enough clues and descriptors to be able to fully imagine the different settings and scenes - especially those  outside the protagonist's shop. Still, I'll likely pick up the next book in the trilogy!

edit: loved it even more the second time around! just found some language/dialogue choices when it came to the main character being a refugee unnecessarily harsh.

I haven't read middle grade in forever and was quite hesitant about giving this a go but I wasn't disappointed at all! This was full of likable, magical characters. I enjoyed the hotel setting a lot and had lots of fun imagining all of the scenes in my head. Really excited for the continuation.

Very fun, lovable characters. Especially loved the dialog and representation of chronic illness which I haven't encountered in my reading so far. The romance genre just isn't for me and always leaves me dissatisfied.

Great structure and writing. But I am surprised that it's labeled as hilarious because I didn't find a single passage funny. All in all, I would have preferred more of everything: plot, backstory, character development. But this is not what this book is meant to give us.

it took me a bit to get into the story but once the setting was properly set and more things started to happen, I had a great time and really rooted for the main characters. so glad this book exists!

I really didn't think any of this was funny despite the book claiming so. still, this was an interesting rather quick read about privilege and trauma. I hated the characters but the writing was good enough to push past that.
