Was a cute lighthearted tale of a widow and his daughter learning to cook with another girl. The aspect of her being a student is kinda weird ??? But also was very wholesome. I am excited make the recipes they make in the book.

this book was romance excellence. s/o to my fav booktuber mina reads for mentioning it. Malakai Korede and and Kiki Banjo were such complex, hot, nuanced characters and I appreciated all the tropes and their banter throughout the story. It had so much of what I love in romance: actual interactions, friendships to lovers, enemies to lovers, working together, two heartthrobs (dami and indiyah vibes?) and they bonded over many cultural aspects as well like food and books which made it feel very real. Bolu Babalola's building of the two characters and the plot were so well done and natural and I was so invested in their individual character dev but also their chemistry was insane and their relationship felt healthy and good and almost soulmate like. I listened to this as an audiobook but ordered the book on B&N as soon as I finished b/c I'm so excited to read.....def one of the best if not the best romance book I've ever read/listened to.
