The Wood: The Life & Times of Cockshutt Wood by John Lewis-Stempel
5.0
I loved every single page of this. It’s a slow read, and I think it works well that way. Full of unfiltered love for the natural world, full of recipes and poems and things to know about trees and plants and animals. I finished it to the tune of “Harry in Winter” and I only cried a little. Definitely my favourite book of the year so far.

Beautiful story, beautiful art.
Especially the scene where he's in the water is really moving and beautifully illustrated.

After reading the first book in like two days I found the second book in The Mortal Instruments series less capturing and thrilling. Even though I liked it overall very much I had the feeling of not moving on with the story, really.
I really can't wait to go and buy the third book because I really, really want to know how it continues with Jace, Simon, Maia and Clary. Aaaah, I can't wait to go to the book store! ♥

I hated this book as much as I loved it.
SPOILER ALERT!
It's one of the most realistic stories I've ever read and so extremely heartbreaking. After finishing it I felt so empty and hopeless and shaken that it ruined my whole day. Yes, I do believe in love a lot and I am naive and I am a bit of a hopeless case and I simply cannot accept the ending. I hated it.
But life's not always rainbows and butterflies and I know that, but still I want that beautiful ending at least in my book lives. Still I give this book four stars for the writing and the characters and the realistic story.
