“the more a person pushes others away, the clearer it becomes he is in need of love the most.”

possible spoilers ahead

idk if this is my first fantasy novel where romance is the main thing rather than a sub-plot but it sure is the first one i’m conscious of reading, which is why i took a lot of notice of how the romance went in this book

first of all, as much as i’m a sucker for soft and gentle love, which i appreciated a whole lot reading from khalid… i guess i just expected more grit from shazi since she WAS supposed to be avenging her bff but ig girlie got a lil too into it and softened up too soon like where’s the anger all of a sudden? she’s so hells deep in those amber eyes STAND UP he killed ur bff remember hello 😭?

but anyway idk i know this is a duology but is that enough of a reason for how surface level it has been so far… i mean khalid and shazi were cute! nothing groundbreaking but since the plot is THEM then ig it’s kinda mid i fear

honestly real of khalid to constantly push and avoid having to explain everyhing to shazi for so many damn chapters the book reached 400 pages it def would’ve been shorter if he just SPOKE??? jesus i get him…… his evasion making up most of the plot covered is not fun tho

too many dawns not enough wrath
