I really do love the sookie stackhouse series, it's one of my favourite book series out there. It's not without its flaws, but overall I really enjoy them and the whole world that has been created. This is the second or third time I've re read them and I always try and give myself a good long break between so I can still be relatively surprised when reading them again. I'm gonna miss them.
I know some people aren't happy about Sookie ending up with Sam, but I think it's good for her. It was hinted at in the very beginning in the first book that they liked eachother that way. And as its goes for male characters, Sam is the nicest and Sookie can actually have a future with him. I'd honestly love like a sequal series or even just a standalone book where we could see where they are now.

I love the Sookie Stackhouse Series so much. Its not perfect but it's probably one of my favourite book series'. It has a great mix of being interesting, well paced, funny and emotional and with great characters and world building too. Sookie herself has developed so much from book one to now, it's great.
The only thing that annoys me with the last few books is that Erik is so annoying. He used to be one of my favourite characters, not necessarily because he's a good guy, he is definitley complicated, but he was interesting and funny. But then when he starts dating Sookie he just gets really annoying and moody and isn't as funny or clever as he used to be. Which I think Harris did on purpose as Sookie isn't meant to end up with him. But still, justice for Erik.

Wow this was an incredible sequel to the first book! I'd recommend anyone read these books, they're written really well and are really gripping. There were loads of unexpected twists and turns in this one but overall it was really enjoyable.

I really enjoyed the themes of why people do the things they do and how you can come back from it. I love Ciara's storyline and ended up really liking her.

Did not finish book.
I found this book quite slow and hard to get into. I might try it again one day as I like the concept and the writing reminded me a little of Terry practhett but for now I'm not sure I want such a slow paced read.

Horrible treatment of the female character and very graphic uncomfortable r*pe scenes that felt unessecary and were badly handled.

I really wanted to like this series as I enjoyed the movies, however it was really disturbing. The first book was alright but then the second one had really graphic r*pe scenes that made me very uncomfortable, I just didn't feel the writer needed to go into that much detail and it felt very wrong. I couldn't finish the second book and I honestly wouldn't recommend trying this series.

There were some very cute moments in this book and I liked the good range of representation and how queer it was, plus the theme of bringing up consent when drinking blood is great. But it just wasn't really very well written or produced, there were quite a few mistakes in it and overall it didn't quite hit like I wanted it too. But there's still some sweet characters in it and if you're looking for an easy queer fantasy read then it's here.
