It was okay, but halfway through I kinda lost interest. May return to it later.

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. I wasn't sure if the magical aspects would be woven in well but I was pleasantly surprised. As a reader, its also easy to get invested in the side plot and characters as well as the romance. I could not put down the book because of the mystery of what was happening with Gwyn's magic. This was such a fun read and I definitely recommend if you want something lighthearted and cozy feeling.

Absolutely phenomenal novel from the queen of speculative fiction. Definitely dark but I just couldn't put it down.

I was looking for an easy, lighthearted read and you definitely get that with this book. The book deals with the main character experiencing some major obstacles caused by class and money (and lack of it) that is totally relatable and true to life. However, these issues lead to the main character, Julie, behaving in pretty immature ways. I also didn't think the foundation for Bennet and Julie's relationship really established them falling for each other. They just did because they should in this kind of book. I did greatly enjoy the descriptions of the food.
