A holocaust survivor, it's amazing that Edie Egar became a therapist herself to help others with trauma. Going through one of the worst life experiences imaginable, how could anyone else's trauma compare? And therein lies the point; trauma is trauma.
Egar's lessons are helpful for those who are having trouble forgiving atrocities - and she knows that anger accompanies this. Read this if you are dealing with your own trauma or if you work with others (all teachers) who have trauma.

I was promised a hopeful read and the book delivered. It's surprising that a 54 year old, white, cis, suburban woman could relate to a non-binary, young, religious monk - but there it was. And though I left religion a long time ago, I was reminded of the biblical message I received; it is enough to wonder at the world around us.

Even though I figured out the twist pretty quickly, I liked how the story played out.
