Booktok has done me wrong in the past so I went into this book with medium to low expectations and it was amazing! There isn't as much magic and fantasy as I was expecting but I absolutely loved it!

I love a good murder mystery with some faith in it! There are some instances where the descriptions given were a bit long winded or felt unnecessary, however that was not a big deal at all. I loved that the Mc had a normal reaction to the dead body I stead of instantly going into "solve it" mode like you see in some murder mysteries. It made it feel more believable. I am 100% looking forward to reading the rest of the series!
