listen i loved this book but the characters could not be more stereotypical. i mean voilet is obsurdly small and frail and fragile and WEAK but ofc

she gets the biggest dragon there is cause shes "mentally strong"

and xaden is this tall, dark, and handsome dude

that wants to kill her AND has shadow powers. WHERE HAVE I SEEN THAT BEFORE??

oh and she has to do this extemely difficult task that she miraculously passes. Also Violet was ALWAYS COMPLAINING like girl please stop it. She was such a mary sue istg. Oh and not even mentioning DAIN. God he was so annoying.

the overprotective dude that holds her back cause he "loves her" that turns out to be the villain? original🥱

the third act betrayal? 
the plot twist at the end that wasnt AT ALL predictable???
In conclusion loved the book, but ive read it a million times before.
