This would be 5 stars if not for how long it took me to get into it. After about 150 pages I was fully invested. Until then I almost dnf'd and it was Mephi and gay representation that carried me over.
So glad I stayed with it though because man did it turn out fantastic and I am very excited for the sequel!

I could gush about this book for a long time. I honestly believe is the closest I've ever read to perfect book - and its middle of a trilogy so you can bet I am excited for the final instalment. Even the perspectives but I did not emotionally connect with I still got something out of of. Every word was purposeful, every page was necessary. When I finish this series I honestly don't think I will know what to do with myself.

It took me a while but I am now starting to hit the stage in= the series where I'm like "ooooh okay I get it now." I don't under the Perrin hate because I probably enjoyed his chapers the most... along with Mat who I now fully understand why most people list him as a favourite. Hope that book 4 continues to up the game 🤞

Fantastic read. Left me constantly questioning my own morality and everything I finished a chapter I found myself muttering "oh that was clever" or something to that effect

This book was 2 days of non stop engagement from me. I felt one of the closest connections to Olive than I have for a fictional character in a long time, at some points this literally made me cry... Nothing like demi/ace rep to hit me hard and to have it done in a way that represents my experience so accurately meant more than I can say.
I"m sure this book isn't for everyone. But for me it was perfect.

Definitely some areas I found interesting in terms of how they were written.  Oscar Wilde's complete disinterest in women reallllyyyy shows.

I've never read a book that made me contemplate my own life so much. Many existential crises had. Very much recommend!

This must be the best book I've read in quite a while! Never read a book where every single POV intrigues me, there was hardly a single moment that I felt like I needed to get past to get back to the things I cared about.
The characters were written so incredibly, they felt so real to me and I had the best time hating Kyle who has got to be the most well written villain I've ever read. Even the ships were written in a way that made my heart cry for them.
I can't wait to read the next book!

I'm pretty proud of finishing this to be honest. It was a slow burner without a doubt and though there were bits I really enjoyed, the majority still felt like it was okay but I wasn't excited. I still think the series has potential to build for me so I'm not giving up on it. Fingers are crossed that the next book will be grabbing me.

Crime is not my usual genre at all - even if there are supernatural elements - but I really enjoyed this. The characters were so well realised and interesting and there were enough twists that I never really knew what was coming next.
