I liked the premise and parts when they were playing the video game. But the writing and dialogue were awkward and clunky at times, the pacing was off and felt rushed towards the end, and the characters lacked depth.

All of the characters fell flat for me and I couldn’t get invested in them. The only charming character was Marcellus the octopus and I kept waiting for him to show up chapter after chapter. Overall though it was a pleasant but predictable read.
